Coq au Vin

Hi All

Our 6 oldest Chickens are nearly 3 years old and very rarely lay eggs now. This has become a problem as the 3 white ones are trying to supply Guests, neighbours and ourselves with eggs, so today we have bought 6 new ones. It will be a couple of weeks before they are laying.

We have made a retirement area for the old girls, Coq au Vin?  that was a joke, but who knows in the winter!

We love them too much to kill them and they rewarded us with 2 eggs today!

Summer in full swing

Hi All

Sorry the blog stalled, it was due to excessive spam being sent to it, I’ll try again now it’s stopped.

We’re pretty much booked for the summer and have had to disappoint a lot of people so if you want to visit us we can take bookings for next year. We’ve painted the place from top to bottom and at the moment we are improving the garden next to the road to the Stables. We’ve already had some lovely guests this summer and we always feel sad when they leave and hope they will come and stay again, you can read their comments on the guest book! I’ve bought a new camera and will try and take some better pictures for the web site so keep looking and send your comments.

We hope you’re not too wet in the UK …rain what rain!

The pool will be warm, the beaches empty, the roads quiet and Finca Arboleda is looking very green and inviting, the perfect place for a quiet evening Bar-b-Que with local fish and wine and it’s a great chance to top up your Easter tan.

Bird Watching

Spring has been a bit slow to get going this year but we have lots of different birds visiting us. There were 9 Bee Eaters in the garden this morning.

After Easter

Easter is nearly here and we’re going to be busy at Finca Arboleda with guests and friends staying. After Easter and in May we have a few weeks still available, the weather should be more stable, indeed May can be one of the best times to visit this area before it gets too hot. Flights will be cheap and if you mention the blog I’m sure we can give you a good price for these weeks. You should be able to pick Figs, Apricots, Pears and Loquarts off the trees and of course Lemons to go with the G&T!

Hello and welcome to Finca Arboleda

Hi, this is our first post. We intend to make occasional posts to let future and past guests know what is happening here, how we came to be here and how we have developed Finca Arboleda. I expect we will also ramble on about things that we are interested in, local news, weather, special offers to Blog readers and loads more we haven’t thought of.

As I’m new to this I’m  going to leave the first post and see how to publish it.
